The reaction of Americans immigrants arriving from Europe, particularly Eastern Europe in the early 1900s was not supported by the Americans as a pleasant aspect. It is true as immigration rate dropped off because of war, and later because of immigration restrictions that had been imposed in the 1920s. Thus, some of the reasons as to the Americans did not support immigrants coming in their homeland was because they were coming to take employment opportunities from them. In addition, the Americans realized that they only came to make a living for their families back home and not with the intention of developing America as a state (Brill, 2009). Furthermore, Americans did not feel good about the immigrants as most of them chose to settle in American cities.
